The principal face displays a warm salmon-pink to peach coloration crossed by a repeating diagonal figure that runs through much of the length. Rather than appearing completely straight and uniform, the grain forms soft rhythmic waves that can produce additional depth and movement as the viewing angle changes.

Other faces reveal a different character, including a beautiful natural transition from warm golden-cream tones into richer pink and salmon areas. This variation gives the blank considerably more visual interest than a uniformly coloured piece and provides the maker with several possibilities when deciding how to orient the final project.
